Hand-eye calibration & Pick and Place with UR Cobot - MVTec HALCON(Machine Vision, Robot Machine Vision)

Part #1

There are many ways to perform a hand-eye calibration with HALCON. In this video, we approach a calibration plate with the gripper of our robot and use these poses to get a correspondence of the camera coordinate system and the robot coordinate system.

Hand-eye calibration is necessary for pick and place applications.

0:08 Theory & Background

1:05 Calibrate the touching point

2:20 Perform the hand-eye calibration

Part #2

In this tutorial, we use shape-based matching to locate an object on a planar surface. Then, we teach a robot how to approach the object.

Content

0:08 Previous preparations and next steps

0:37 Create the shape model

1:15 Define the robot’s approach

1:42 Test the application
