In this tutorial, you will learn how to work with Dictionaries in MVTec HALCON. First, you will learn how to create dictionaries and assign values to them, both with the available operators and the access expressions. Additionally, we will look at both the static and dynamic syntax of the access expressions. 

After that, we also want to access the values we stored in the dictionaries. Lastly, you will learn more about some uses cases for dictionaries, like the communication via JSON or the usage of dictionaries as generic input or output parameters of procedures.

How To: Hand-eye calibration with - MVTec Halcon

In this tutorial, we use HDevelop to perform a quick and easy approximate hand-eye calibration. This hand-eye calibration is necessary to pick and place objects, which are observed by a stationary 3D sensor, with a robot. 

There are many ways to perform a hand-eye calibration with HALCON. In this video, the robot holds a ping pong with its gripper while the 3D sensor acquires image data. 

With the corresponding poses, we can calibrate the transformation from the camera coordinate system into the robot coordinate system. We show several approaches to check the calibration and then pick and place an object using the calibration result.

Train a Model

In the second part of this tutorial series, you will learn how to train a classification model with MVTec HALCON.

Evaluate the Trained Model – HALCON Deep Learning

In the third part of this tutorial series on HALCON’s deep-learning-based classification, we will check the deep-learning-based object detection model we trained in the previous video.

3D Vision Guided Robotic Assembly - MVTec HALCON(Machine Vision, 3D Machine Vision)

Kinemetrix (www.kinemetrix.com) built an automated clip assembly cell in which parts are fed onto a conveyor in arbitrary 3D orientation, then picked and rotated by an articulated robot so that a plastic clip can be inserted.

Deep OCR - MVTec Halcon

With Deep OCR, MVTec introduces a holistic deep-learning-based approach for optical character recognition (OCR). 

Deep OCR can localize numbers and letters much more robustly, regardless of their orientation, font type, and polarity.
